Password Stink! January 4, 2012

Categories: Business,My Thoughts

Password BookI can’t tell you how many times I change my password because I forgot which one I used.

Since I saw Kristie Galvani put all of her passwords in a little black book, I decided to do the same thing.  The only problem with that is you need to update that little black book if you decide to change your password!

I was reading the New York Times the other day and it seems like most people have the same frustrations with passwords. It talked about how researchers are now looking into using finger prints and/or voice activation instead of the traditional password.

Boy, wouldn’t that make life a little easier?

It would be one thing if we could use the same password over and over again, but many of the sites want upper and lower case and numbers.  This makes it nearly impossible to remember all the passwords you need especially if you have multiple social networking sites, online banking, and anything else online that you need to access.  (Even my wordpress account has a password.  It’s so annoying!)

My only concern with using a fingerprint verification or even a voice recognition software is that what if someone holds you down and forces you to give up the password? But, I guess it’s the same issue with getting your password.  The only difference -  will you remember?

I think it’s a few bucks, but they have Apps available for passwords (which obviously, you need a password to access the App). It might be helpful for you, since you’ll always have your phone with you.

Keeping track of passwords is a pain. I keep my passwords on an Excel spreadsheet.   I keep the file on my desktop for handy use.

I did that and then forgot to fill it in… hahaha…

Thanks for your response.  One of my twitter friends gave me a free app for the computer…

Me too – HATE having to remember all these passwords! G’s computer is accessed through fingerprint or by typing in his password. It’s pretty neat! :)

    So cool!

Happens to me all the time.  I have them all on a paper, but God forbid, I lose that paper…
