Colette Malouf Spring 2013 Collections November 30, 2012

Categories: Guest Blog

The Spring Nudity in Nature collection is an escape into the tranquility of nature’s den. The sensation of fusing with the sea while floating in warm water or dancing with the trees while drifting among the gnarly roots of the mangroves brings us to a euphoric state of being embraced by the natural environment.

Colors are soft in aqua, sand, mauve and lime, mixed with metallic champagne, gold and antique silver. Materials look liquid in Lacquered Mesh, enameled metals, shiny Resin and Ombré Crystals. The colors and materials mimic the flow of sea surf from aqua to white, reflect the mood of moonlight from jet to crystal, elicit the charm of tea rose from mauve to brown and illuminate the colors in pond algae from lime to brown.

New this season is Lacquered Mesh jewelry in the form of sculptural shapes embracing the body in bold cuffs and collars. Metals for hair in the form of dragonfly wings and serpents are artistic and elegant. Honey comb and twigs embedded in resin cuffs and in pony ties are bold and organic. Lily pads are abound on metal collars or in delicate clusters mixed with sea urchins and coral. Fine filaments like angel hair are shaped into pressed little florets. The newest shapes for hair this season include the Crochet Wire Flower Crown for the crown of the head, the Bendable Headwrap that doubles as a pony wrap to turn your tail into a malleable bun, and the Pony Braider, which has silk tails for braiding into the tresses for a flash of color.

“The Spring 2013 collection is designed to draw us into the serenity of oneness with nature,” says Colette Malouf.

Take a look at some of the new Colette Malouf Spring 2013 Collection below.

————————————————————————————————————

With an atelier in SoHo, Colette Malouf creates haute style in hair and costume jewelry. Inheriting the DNA of classic couture from her family’s luxury dress house, and growing up amidst the emerging Pop art scene of SoHo in the 70’s and 80’s, Colette reflects these two juxtaposed elements in her designs. She blends downtown chic with high fashion, establishing an aesthetic that is a unique melding of artistic elegance and intricate craftsmanship. As an accessory designer, Colette stands alone in generating vivid storytelling in her collections of accessories for hair and costume jewelry. As an industry veteran, she has designed for Michael Kors and Derek Lam, and her pieces are worn by the likes of Anne Hathaway, Taylor Swift and Gwyneth Paltrow. The collections are available in 20 Colette Malouf shops throughout Asia, in Bergdorf Goodman and Henri Bendel in New York, Le Bon Marché in Paris, and others.
