It’s cool to have a live stream at your big event. But what happens if something inappropriate gets posted during the event?

That’s exactly what happened during NYC’s Fashion Week. Designer, Rebecca Minkoff decided to incorporated a large screen to showcase tweets while her fashion show was taking place. When a Buzzfeed staff member tweeted that the show had a live feed, twitter trolls took the opportunity to post obscene photos and sayings on twitter using the hashtag, #RMFall for everyone at the event to see.

Think twice before using a live stream. It may be the best thing you did to enhance the event but it could be a disaster like the Rebecca Minkoff show.

I was at fashion week last week – bloggers were nose deep macs in the tent, yotel hotel and the daily’s dedicated space -appearing oh so fashionably busy – who knows what they know – what I do know is that bloggers are not being paid -seasoned educated experts, all ages, who live, breathe and die to digest trends – are not getting paid – all industries are suffering – too much free information – Americas greatest commodities are out arts and sciences – there needs must be rules set to protect the visionaries who dare to dream and historically move the world forward.
