Nannette Lepore Sample Sale in NYC May 18, 2012

Categories: Fashion Item of the Week,My Life

The other day, Kristie Galvani and I were in the city.  We had a presentation to make at a new potential client’s office and as we walked in the building, I noticed that there was a hand written sign saying that Nannette Lepore was having a sample sale on the fourth floor.

“Can’t we go now?” I asked Kristie, like a kid out of a candy store.

“Let’s go to the meeting first and then we’ll have more time to browse,” she said, being realistic.

After the meeting was finished, we both got on the elevator and I smiled as I pushed the down button to the fourth floor.  My heart was palpitating. I know this sounds crazy but I love her clothes. She designs them to be both feminine yet professional.

I ended up buying four suits for the price of two! I must sound like a shopaholic and I probably am but when I see something that I really enjoy wearing and it’s so discounted, I get excited… Wouldn’t you?

Tell me a time when you got excited about something.

OPI Launches Holland Collection for Spring/Summer 2012 December 28, 2011

Categories: Fashion Item of the Week

OPI Holland CollectionOPI celebrates color with the Holland Collection for Spring/Summer 2012. Inspired by the country’s range of stunning shades – as seen in vivid tulips, windmill-dotted hillsides and bustling canals – the collection’s twelve shades offer a mixture of sophisticated neutrals and highly-pigmented brights.

Holland has a very unique, vibrant beauty to match its open-minded nature,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Spring is the season of color, and the Holland Collection provides an array of pink, coral and orange hues that capture this energy. The bright lacquers are married with neutrals in new variations like red clay and sea green.”

A sequence of electric brights, including a sun-lit orange (A Roll in The Hague), a hot coral-red (Red Lights Ahead…Where?) and two perfectly pretty pinks (Kiss Me on My Tulips and a light-catching Pedal Faster Suzi!) complement their cooler counterparts in hues of glistening purple (Dutch ’Ya Just Love OPI? and Vampsterdam), while elegant neutrals (Gouda Gouda Two Shoes, Did You ’ear About Van Gogh? and Wooden Shoe Like to Know?) meet two shimmer-laced blues (I Have a Herring Problem and I Don’t Give a Rotterdam!) and a creamy sea green (Thanks a WindMillion).

“Wearing these colors on fingers and toes will accessorize the season’s hottest trends,” remarks Suzi. “The varied palette of colors accentuates the looks that walked the runway, from colored pants and ladylike frocks to long, blousy-sleeved tops and dramatic patterns.”
Holland by OPI includes the following shades:

A Roll in The Hague
Take advantage of this frisky little orange.

Red Lights Ahead…Where?

Did You ’ear About Van Gogh?
Rumor has it…this sandy bisque is a work of art.

Thanks a WindMillion
You totally deserve this breezy sea green.

Wooden Shoe Like to Know?
It’s no secret…everybody loves this shimmery chocolate-brown.

I Have Herring Problem
What’s that you say? I need to “sea” this shimmery green-blue?

I Don’t Give a Rotterdam!
This sassy steal-blue shimmer means business!

Gouda Gouda Two Shoes

OPI Lacquer App, a “MUST HAVE” November 29, 2011

Categories: Fashion Item of the Week,My Thoughts,Reviews,Social Media

OPI AppThree things that I absolutely love are technology and fashion and FREE. So naturally, when I heard about OPI announcing the re-launch of their OPI Application for the iPhone/iPod Touch, I was extremely excited. I previously downloaded OPI’s App and was excited to see what their new features might be.

The original OPI App was amazing and is a “must have” for those who get their nails done. When you’re choosing your lacquer at the salon, you can “test” the color out and see how it looks on your hand before committing. The amazing thing too, is that you can easily choose a lacquer share to accessorize any new dress, top or jacket right when you’re shopping in a store!

The updated OPI App still offers a really easy, free way to browse and search over 200 OPI nail lacquer shades, but this time it’s faster. The “Try It On Color Studio” still continues to provide a look at all current OPI shades. What I like is that the new search allows users to view past favorites (as I  have some favorite colors that have retired) and a bit of information about the year in which those hues were retired.

The visual display is now enhanced, as the improved OPI App is now at a much higher resolution. One of the nice, new features is that the application now has the capability to wait in the background while other programs are used, namely Facebook. It gives the user the option to check out OPI‘s Facebook page without actually having to leave the OPI App.

The OPI App also includes a search bar with word prompt technology. So, after typing just a few letters, any possible options will be offered. Since its original debut, the App has added a sort-by-collection feature, highlighting current collections and promotions so that users will know what’s new to the brand. The App even lets users select favorites, storing lacquer choices for future reference.
