It’s amazing how much we wait. I bet that if you calculate the time that an average person waits on line, waits on the phone for customer service or waits in a doctor’s office, it would take up a significant portion of his/her life.
According to Answers.com, if a person lives until 65, he/she will spend almost half his/her life waiting for something.
The waiting can be anything. It can be waiting on line to get Broadway Show tickets. It could be hanging on the phone with Apple. It could even be waiting in the emergency room waiting to be seen. It could be waiting on line for the bank. It could be waiting for almost anything!
Now for the most part, I’m a patient person but after a while of waiting, I get on edge like the rest of you folks out there.
So tell me, what do you do to be patient when you wait?

I have a very hard time saying no when I hear, “do you want Cold Stone?”
I love Cold Stone. It’s crazy how much I love this ice cream. We used to have a franchise in my home town but they closed shop after a year or so of being in business. Now the only Cold Stone Creamery is located about a half hour a way.
Does that stop me from going? Absolutely not. If I get a craving for Cold Stone, I’m out the door traveling to get some cake batter ice cream with cookie dough.
Yes, I know it is a million calories. So what I try to do is work it off by working even harder when I go to the gym. But in the meantime, I continue to travel to get some.
It’s funny both my kids love it too. When I was in Arizona a couple of weeks ago on a family vacation, every where we turned was another Cold Stone Creamery. We learned that Cold Stone was born here in Arizona.
It was so funny to see Cold Stone at the sports arena too.
When we went to Sedona, we googled the location of the Cold Stone and found that it was on Highway 89A. We drove up and down looking for it. We couldn’t find it. I even looked on the map and couldn’t figure it out until I asked one of the merchants in town. She told me that it was located in the Hyatt Hotel’s merchant area.
We turned up to the Hyatt. We couldn’t believe that it was so hidden. There were no signs. When we got to the merchant area, we saw a sign. My heart raced. I was thrilled that it was really here and it was still open at 8 pm.
When we walked in Bill Barnes, Manager of the Sedona store greeted us at the door and helped serve us. He was particularly nice. I was so glad that we went there and saw him do magic tricks with the ice cream that were rather silly but fun.
“How can they hide you up here?” I asked him.
“Well, there are four other ice cream stores in town,” he said.
“But you are Cold Stone and there is no other,” I said.
He smiled and handed me my ice cream. I smiled and walked away.

If you’re like me, coffee isn’t just a beverage to drink… It’s a way of life!
Coffee-mate did a fun poll to match up personalities with one of their amazing flavors. Ironically, the personality that I felt most reflected me was also my favorite flavor to put into my coffee, Crème brûlée! Though I may be into health and fitness, I cannot shy away from an excellent dessert. I also love exotic places and find myself to be pretty romantic and trendy! The Crème brûlée flavor is definitely an amazing flavor and I never really thought about my coffee can secretly reveal who I am as a person!
So what about you? What flavor can’t you live without? Are you loyal and sophisticated? Then maybe you’re a Café Mocha. Traditional and understanding? Perhaps your flavor profile is Hazelnut!

If you are online, then I’m sure you’ve seen an invitation from one of your friends to join Pinterest.
On the day I signed up I had more than 10 requests so I decided to check it out. And, once I did, I got hooked!
Pinterest is a new social networking site that enables you to have your own online bulletin board where you can “pin” stuff you like or want to keep, just like the bulletin board you may have at home. Some people may use Pinterest when they are redecorating their home to pin up furniture and patterns for various rooms. Others use it for a special occasion like a wedding, where they pin up bridal gowns, flowers and tuxedos that they like.
On my Pinterest page, I have several boards including: things I love to do, social networking sites, books I enjoyed reading and Music I like to listen to. On each board, I post various items. For example on my things I love to do board, I posted my work, HJMT, the radio show, Hilary Topper On Air and my blog, HilaryTopper.com. These are some of the things I love to do.
In January 2012, the site attracted more than 11 million unique visitors. This makes it a prime for potential for business.
For starters, it can have an affiliate links. So when someone, including the pinner, clicks on a product that they like, the product could be purchased.
It also enables sales people to get a real look at who they are soliciting before they meet the person. This will enable them to connect and have an advantage.
Here are some tips on using Pinterest:
• If you sign in to Pinterest, make sure that you spend the time filling up your bulletin boards. Don’t leave it empty and stagnant, otherwise no one will follow you and you will not be able to connect with potential business propsects.
• If you want to get noticed on Pinterest, link it with Twitter and Facebook. This will enable your community to learn more about you through things you like
• Consider a daily or weekly theme on Pinterest
• If you’re promoting a product, display it on Pinterest.
• If you have a service, show off what you do. For example, if you have a design firm, show off your work. If you have a PR firm, show off your placements.
• Finally, make sure you watch what others do on Pinterest.

My family and I were at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick watching the Arizona Diamond Backs practice for spring training. They were doing drills and strategizing different plays. We found it quite fascinating, especially to see the players up close and personal!
As we were standing, watching the pitchers throw their balls to the catchers, I noticed that an older man was signing a bat for a fan.
When he was finished, he came toward us. “Are you having fun?” he asked.
“Yes, this is great,” I said. As he spoke with my husband and son, I quickly ran back to the guy with the signed bat and asked him who I was talking with.
“That’s the team’s owner,” he told me.
I ran back to my husband and son and started to tell the man that we love the Diamondbacks, which we do. “We’re even from New York,” I told him.
“Really,” he said. “how did you get into the Diamondbacks?”
“By watching them on television and following them on the Internet,” I told him.
We asked him where the team store was and he took us into the corporate offices. He was extremely nice and so accommodating. I couldn’t believe that a team owner would be that nice to strangers. But he was.
The more we spoke with him, the more I liked him. If the owner is such a nice person than he sets the tone for the rest of the team.
“Can I take a photo of you?” I asked him. Of course he agreed. He gave me his card.
Boy, Ken Kendrik, Managing General Partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks is a real “stand up” guy! I’m really glad I met him!
