Thoughts On Our First African-American Prez…

images2.jpegI am so proud to be a citizen of the USA! No matter which party you belong, by electing President-elect Barack Obama, we did something that I thought would never happen. We made history!

Before the election, my son came home from religious school and said, “you know, mommy, everyone in school said that there will never be a president of our religion. The teacher brought it up and I was arguing with a kid about how 60 years ago no one thought there would ever be an African-American president.”

By having Obama in office, gives all of us hope. Now, no matter what race, religion, sex or ethnicity, you have the opportunity to do whatever you set your mind to do!

When you watch tapes of the 50’s and 60’s where blacks and whites were unable to sit with each other and then look at today, where we actually elected our first African-American President. We’ve come a long way! And it makes me feel really proud — not only for my son and daughter, but for all the sons and daughters across the USA who are African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, etc.!
