Traffic Signs Are So Confusing Some Times…

I was driving to a golf course in Woodmere today and my car was stopped by a Long Island Rail Road train passing through the East Rockaway station. Sitting there, I noticed an interesting sign. It was a yellow diamond sign with a picture of a truck passing over the railroad tracks with a lightning bolt struck between the front and back end of the truck. My husband said, “look at that sign. What do you think it means?” The other people in the car didn’t say anything. We just stared trying to figure it out.

Then my family and I were driving over the Tappan Zee Bridge. As I was looking out the window I noticed a sign that said, “Life is too precious to waste.”

“I guess a lot of people jump over the bridge,” I said to my husband, Brian, who was driving the car.

“Yeah, this is one of those bridges where a lot of people commit suicide,” he said.

As we were driving further and further upstate, there were signs that said, “Falling Rock Zone,” but I didn’t see any rocks or any hills in site. I also noticed signs that had on it, a deer dancing. I guess it’s trying to tell us that there are deer crossing the road? Are there really deer crossing the New York State Thruway? Maybe… But the more signs I saw today, the more I was getting confused. Have you seen any confusing signs lately?
