A Corporate Event or A Party?

The other night, I went to a 25th Anniversary Celebration of 21st Century Security.  The party was held at Russo’s on the Bay.  The hosts, Anthony and Geri Poveromo, hired my firm to help them set up and organize the party.

Not to toot our horn, but when Lori Alexy, VP at HJMT, and I walked in, we noticed immediately that everything was well-organized and well-orchestrated.  Like a traditional corporate event, they had speeches but not the usual type boring speeches that you hear.  Anthony asked several of his key clients to speak and when they got up to the mic, they were real and down right funny!

The best part of the evening was when the DJ started playing various era music and we all got into a conga line and walked around the entire hall.  Everyone was on line.  The funny thing was when the music came on, I looked at Lori and said, “do you think we should start a train?”

She looked at me as if I was crazy.  I asked a couple standing next to me.  They had the same reaction.  Within moments after that, the DJ called everyone up to make a train.

“My idea wasn’t a bad idea!” I said to the couple.

21st Century had a great party.  I actually think it was the first corporate party that I didn’t leave as soon as the salad came!  We stayed until the very end…
