Book Review: The Women’s Guide to Health – Run Walk Run, Eat Right and Feel Better

Those who know me know that I highly admire Jeff Galloway, the Olympian. He is an amazing, giving person who has helped thousands of runners through the years. Recently Meyer & Meyer Sport, the book publisher, sent me The Women’s Guide to Health – Run Walk Run, Eat Right and Feel Better. The book is written by Jeff Galloway, Ruth Parker and Carmen Patrick Mohan. So, I was excited to read it.

The book is for the woman who wants to start to change her life through exercise and eating right. It’s not for the avid athlete.

It focuses on everything from getting started to achieving your run/walk/run goals. Schedules are included along with nutrition plans to help you lose weight.

The Women’s Guide to Health breaks down all the health and fitness details for you in just one handy, easy to read book.

From dealing with menstruation to menopause, the book answers a ton of questions that you may have for a total holistic approach.

Run/Walk/Run is a method developed by Jeff Galloway, Olympian. Jeff came up with this specifically for beginners. He later learned that this method works with elite athletes as well because it can increase your overall time by reducing injury. The walk breaks gives you instant recovery.

The book discusses what to eat and drink before, during and after exercise. It also provides interesting recipes and more.

It’s a great book for a beginner. You can buy it online on Amazon or through Meyer & Meyer Sport.
