Burger King’s Marketing People Rock!

Current Image via WikipediaKudos to Burger King‘s PR and Marketing people! The development and marketing of Flame, a cologne for men, was a great PR opportunity for Burger King.

Flame was originally introduced in December and sold out quickly for $3.99 and smelled like flame broiled burgers. Apparently there are many people out there who think this scent is attractive. Now, you can get Flame on ebay but you won’t pay $3.99, you’ll pay at least $20!

Burger King’s marketing and PR people quickly got bloggers and online media to cover Flame and within days it got tremendous online attention.

Burger King is at it again. This time with Facebook. If you de-friend 10 friends on Facebook, you can get a free Whopper. The app that Burger King created is called Whopper Sacrifice. It all links back to their web site for a free coupon. It’s brilliant marketing and it’s already gone viral!

If major brands are not on the Internet doing clever stunts like Burger King, they are missing out on a market that will be here for a long time to come!
