Do What Makes You Happy…

Sometimes life is a series of curveballs and you’re just not sure what direction you are moving. You’re trying to move forward but sometimes you’re moving sideways or even backward.

You may “hate” your job at the moment, you’re upset with your family, or just had a blowout fight with your friend. What do you do? Do you sit around being miserable? Or do you move on?

Most of us sit around feeling miserable. We talk about the situation that is bothering us to family and other friends. Yet, what does that do for us?

It just makes us more miserable!

Just be Happy

I can’t tell you how many people I know keep telling me they hate their jobs and can’t wait to retire. I know the money is better if you wait longer to retire, but is the money really worth your misery?

After my sister’s passing, now it’s going on four years, I realized that life is way too short.

Yes, I get upset about stupid things that really don’t matter in the scheme of things. I think we all do. But sometimes, we need to sit back, meditate and refocus on what’s important and what really matters in life.

If you have a client who makes you unhappy, dump him. If your parent puts you down, don’t talk with her that often. Focus on you and what’s important to you.

Smile once and a while

Studies show that when you smile you release neuropeptides, which will help fight off stress. Once you do this, the other neurotransmitters including dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins come into play. Endorphins act as a mild pain reliever, whereas serotonin is an antidepressant.

So smile. Stand up and give me a signature pose. Just be happy!

P.S. There are people out there who care. If you don’t find that, then reach out to someone. You are never alone!
