Facebook Frenzy…

images.jpegI don’t know about you, but I am seeing more and more of my friends on Facebook. Facebook used to be for High School and College students, but not anymore. My High School daughter is so embarrassed. She refuses to friend me, my sister or my mother. Yes, my mother is on Facebook too! I have more than 500 friends now on Facebook and some of them are people that I know from High School but never gave me the time of day there. It’s funny, everyone I talk with seems to feel the same way — people that they never spoke with in HS are now their friends on Facebook. But, who cares? That was then and this is now!

The business world also found Facebook and we’re doing business here! I have so many business contacts on Facebook and have made so many appointments.

What’s interesting about Facebook or any other social networking site is the fact that people either want to just be a virtual friend or they want to cross over to the “real world.”

I wanted to see how many crossovers, I could get. So, I did a little experiment on Plaxo, Facebook and Linkedin. I set up a networking group, the NYC Networking Group and invited all my business contacts on all three sites. (Most people would say that I got the best response from Linkedin. What do you think?)

Actually, Facebook had the most amount of people respond, Plaxo was next and Linkedin came in last. What does that tell you?
