Have a LinkedIn Anniverary?

Have you ever had a LinkedIn Anniversary?

If so, I’m sure you received the same message from multiple people, which said: “Congratulations. Hope all is well.”

It’s a nice message to receive but when you receive the message more than five times, it gets a bit trite. If someone really wants to wish you well, then he/she would write a personal message to you right?

I must have gotten 80+ notifications from people on LinkedIn wishing me “Congratulations. Hope all is well.”  First, I had an anniversary at Hofstra University for being an Adjunct Professor for two years. Then, a couple of days later, I had an anniversary for HJMT Public Relations Inc, being in business 24 years. So you could just imagine how my mailbox was flooded with “Congratulations. Hope all is well,” messages!

If you want to connect with someone on LinkedIn and you see it’s their anniversary, instead of clicking on the standard “Congratulations” message, think about sending a customized message.  It will go that much further.

So true. It is always better to write something a little more personalized than the boiler plate version.

Agreed. I try never to use the standard boilerplate language. It only takes a few seconds to change it up.
