Meet Ellen Heydt, Account Executive at HJMT…

I recently interviewed one of our account executives, Ellen Heydt and here is what she said….

How did you first hear about HJMT?
My college advisor called me on day and said that another professor reached out regarding a position at a PR firm in Long Island and she immediately thought of me. She referred me to him and gave me all the information I needed. I sent in my resume and cover letter continued to follow up with Kristie until I got an interview. I was really persistent and it payed off.

What was your first job?
My first job was at a family owned pharmacy, which was also a gift shop and florist. I did everything, I helped at the pharmacy, sold precious moments and hallmark cards and created bouquets. One of the girls that I work with actually just added me as a friend on Facebook last week!

Are you married? Any kids?
Not married, but hopefully someday. And no kids (thank goodness)

I like to relax, spend time with my friends, shopping, reading, and enjoy Long Island

List some of you favorites:
Food – Chicken Wings and Sushi, not together or course

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
On a beach, where the weather is warm….just pick one, I’m sure I’d love it!

Do you have any special talents?
I play the flute and sing. I can also stand on my head.

If you could pick anyone for President who would it be?
Rudy, Rudy, Rudy….Giuliani that is! : )

What’s a typical day like as a Project Manager?
Everyday is different. Some days I’ll work on just a few accounts and other days, I’ll bounce back and forth every hour from a social media client, to an event client to a PR client! It’s a lot of juggling and a great opportunity to improve on your organizational skills.

What’s your favorite part about HJMT?
We all work really hard and love what we do, so we all get along really well and work very well together, plus it’s fun!

What are you doing tonight after work?
Going to bed, I’m a little under the weather.
