I’m in a group called EO (Entrepreneurs Organization). It’s a peer group and as part of your membership, you get the following opportunities:
- monthly forum where eight to nine people share their concerns about family, personal and business issues.
- to attend a variety of large scale events where well-known authors and speakers discuss their areas of expertise. (The one I went to with Ken Blachard of the One Minute Manager was superb!)
- attend fun dine-arounds and family events like the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
- and, you can attend “Huddles.” These are small intimate settings where the speaker delves into a topic for one to two hours.
The other day, I attended a huddle at CapitalOne Bank on 46th Street and Third Avenue in NYC. Noah Blumenfeld was the speaker. He did a great job helping the group learn how to make change in their lives.
A few weeks before that, I attended a huddle on employment law. Joel Greenwald of Greenwald Doherty LLP was the speaker. He spoke about different types of employees — part time vs. freelance and more. I was impressed with his presentation as well.
The upcoming huddle on understanding financial statements looks like a good one too.
I really feel that the EO group has been very beneficial overall and I would recommend the group and the “huddle” series to all entrepreneurs!
