On The Kings Point Camera Club…

I always loved taking photographs. Even in college, I took a few elective courses in the subject. I guess I inherited my love for photography from my parents.

I was with my parents a few weekends ago. They live in a senior development called Kings Point in the state of Florida. The one group that my parents were drawn to, when they first moved there, was the Kings Point Camera Club (KPCC).

Now, my dad is president. They travel around to different places and together as a group shoot photos. The day I left to go home, they went to a nature preserve.

Picture this, 30 seniors wearing a black shirt with the green letters, KPCC and holding cameras. Many have more than one camera and have scooters, wheelchairs and canes. They all seek the perfect shot!

Funny thing is, these seniors are so competitive. I mean, I overheard my parents talk about how Arthur will probably bring his big lens to the shoot.

“What cameras should we bring?” my dad asked my mom.

“I hope my new camera gets here before the shoot,” my mom said.

I was there for the weekend and the phones didn’t stop ringing. Everyone from the camera club was calling. Everyone was so excited about this shoot that my father organized. Can’t wait to see the photos!
