On Working At HJMT… by Guest Blogger, Ellen Heydt

On Tuesday, November 10th, the HJMT will staff and coordinate the Sixty over Sixty Awards Gala, hosted by the School Business Partnership of Long Island. The event will honor 60 people over the age of 60 who have contributed something tangible better the lives of people living on Long Island.

This event has been a huge undertaking. Not only did it take a lot of time and coordination, it took a lot out of all of us at HJMT. As the project manager for the event, I want to personally thank everyone at HJMT for helping me out!

When Hilary hired me at HJMT, one of the things she stressed was that everyone she hired was a “team” player. Well, she did a good job at picking the cream of the crop.

Over the past few months every employee at HJMT from the Senior VP, Kristie Galvani to Lisa Gordon the PR Supervisor all the way in Rochester has contributed their time and effort to this event.

Whether it was picking up the phone and making a simple phone call to some florists (thank you so much Jillian!) or wrapping, what seemed like a million raffle prizes, the HJMT staff really pulled through.  I would have been lost without all of you pitching in!

I am especially thankful to Lori Alexy, who has taught me everything I know about event planning. Without her, this event would not even be close to as great as it will be!

All in all, I just want to give you a huge thanks for being great co-workers and team players and thank Hilary Topper for making teamwork such an important aspect of our business.
