Staff Summit…

Sounds important, huh? Well, it actually is and was important. We had the HJMT COMMUNICATIONS, LLC summit today, when Lisa Gordon and I got back from our meeting with Enterprise Rent-A-Car in New Jersey. What’s a summit? Before I joined the Entrpereneurs Organization (EO) I didn’t know. But after EO NY had their summit more than a month ago, I realized that this was something that HJMT needed to do. (We’ve actually been getting together for years now at the end of the year reviewing numbers, new business leads and firm growth, but we never really called it anything. The closest thing that we called it was a “managers retreat.” But, it really wasn’t that it was a summit.)

Anyway, we held a summit today and we talked about everything above and we also talked about Sandler Training that Kristie Galvani has been going to for the last few weeks on Thursday mornings in Hauppauge.

“Wow, that is really interesting,” said Ellen Heydt, HJMT Project Manager. “I really learned a lot and now I want to try it out.”

“Kristie will be meeting with each of you individually to role play and to help you develop your sales techniques,” I said. “I think it would be beneficial for both of you and for the growth of the firm.”

The summit ended about 6:30 pm and we all went back to work to check our emails. By around 7:30 pm, we were tired and those of us who were left decided to get some dinner at one of the best Italian Restaurants on Long Island, “Steve’s Piccolo Bussalo.”

Tomorrow, there will be a major suprise for all the HJMT staff. What do you think we’re going to do?
