I don’t know that much about Envy on the Coast. All I knew before this review was that they are a local Long Island band and they played Warped Tour during the summer of 2007.
I have been to the Americana Mall in Manhasset, Long Island numerous times and have never seen the Estée Lauder store. I didn’t even know that Estée Lauder had a store until just recently when I became a team captain of the “Every Woman Matters” 5K Walk at Jones Beach on May 16th at 10 am. The money raised for the walk will go toward the Katz’ Women’s Hospital which is part of the Northshore-LIJ Health System.
During opening week, I got three tickets from Saul Katz, one of the owners of the New York Mets. I never met Mr. Katz but he is the major sponsor of the new Katz’ Women’s Hospital, which is part of Northshore – LIJ.
I got involved with the Katz’ Women’s Hospital after a friend of mine sold me on the concept to have a hospital especially geared for the needs of women.
I started to like Spoon when I first heard “Girls Can Tell” in 2001. Although the band started in 1993, I never heard of them before this album came out. After that, I purchased their next couple of albums and have been a fan ever since.
The band, originally from Austin, Texas, consists of Britt Daniels as the lead singer and guitarist (he also wrote all the songs), Jim Eno on drums, Rob Pope on bass and Eric Harvey on keyboard. Produced by Daniels and Eno, Transference is Spoon’s latest album.
