A NEW SMART BED THAT MONITORS SLEEP

sleep monitoring

Here’s an interview I had with a company that developed a new smart bed that monitors your sleep and your children’s sleep patterns.  Interesting stuff!  Check it out by clicking on the link below:

A Blast from the Past. Years ago I invented a seat that got installed in models of the Cadillac division of GM that read, computed, then fed back pressure to various bladders. Head of Engineering said it was the most comfortable seat.

The problem is that big folks compress the springs and bottom out, while light drivers bounce on top of them. The reading of the pressures (which your noted bed does), turned out to be a big deal, and the bladders and controls found their way into a line of beds.

It’s amazing how we stand on each other’s shoulders. Sure wish I had had a tablet computer or smartphone — Cadillac had to tune the pre-production model using a big “portable” notebook computer.

As always, a timely article and great product!

As much as time has changed, it still stays the same… Thanks for sharing Tom!
