Seven Tips on Getting Through the Airport Quickly

airport security

I’ve been traveling so much that I feel like I’m an expert now at getting through the airport quickly.

Here are some tips:

Tip #1

Don’t wear a belt or have anything in your pockets. If you have to wear a belt, make sure to take it off as you stand in line at security.

Tip #2

Take everything that needs to come out when you are in the security line. This includes your laptop and any other electronics. Remember to remove your hat and coat as well.

Tip #3

If you travel a lot, you know that CLEAR is an awesome program and that you skip all the long lines at the Delta terminal with CLEAR. The other programs include TSA Precheck and Global Entry. These two programs are also worth getting and move things along a whole lot quicker. If you don’t travel with DELTA, just be patient. The line moves rather quickly.

Tip #4

Wear slip-on shoes. This will help get you in and out quicker, especially if you don’t have to tie your shoelaces or buckle up your boots. Slip-on shoes are the way to go at the airport.

Tip #5

Check your bags especially if they are free to check. This will help you get through security quicker and get to your gate in a timely manner.

Tip #6

Try to fly first thing in the morning. It seems like those first flights get out on time. Once you go later, it’s up in the air.

Tip #7

Always have a smile and be nice to the TSA officers. This will go along way.
