Tasca d’Almerita Grillo Review
If you know me, you know I love good wines. So when Tasca contacted me about reviewing two of their Sicilian wines, I was interested.

The wine color is a lemon yellow. You taste different fruits including: peach, apricots, and pineapple. It soothes the palate and is a great bottle to have on a Sunday afternoon or with a nice dinner consisting of seafood, poultry, pasta or veal.
What I learned is that there are at least four different types of white groups that grow in Sicily. The most common and best known is the Grillo, which I tasted here. When “served well-chilled on a warm summer day,” paired with lighter meals or grilled meals, Grillo is the ideal starter.
Sicily also has at least four types of red wines and I do have another bottle of red which I will review at a later time.
I never realized how much is grown in Sicily. For 3,000 years, Sicily has been known for their great wines and within the last few years, there has been a focus on producers and their passion for quality.
What I love about the Silicia Doc White wine —
- It’s smooth and doesn’t leave an after taste.
- It’s fruity, yet dry
- It’s perfect to drink on a summer’s day or a crisp fall day!
- It tastes much like champagne.
What I don’t like:
- I couldn’t think of one thing I didn’t like about this wine. It was flavorful, smooth and a perfect addition to a relaxing Sunday afternoon!
Now that I know that there are some great wines in Sicily, it may entice me to travel there one day!
