Dining at Aleia was not just a meal but an unforgettable experience. Tucked away with an intimate setting and very few tables, this restaurant offers a nine-course tasting menu that could rival some of the best culinary experiences in the world. At €180 per person, it’s certainly a splurge, but trust me when I say it’s worth every euro.

From the moment we walked in, we were whisked into a world of luxury and excellence. The atmosphere at Aleia is warm and refined yet relaxed, and the service is impeccable. Despite the restaurant’s exclusivity, we were graciously seated at a generously large table, basking in the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like royalty. Plus, the restaurant has a Michelin star.

The Aleia Menu

Oh, the menu! Words will never do it justice. What unfolded over the evening was a symphony of flavors that showcased the chef’s artistry. Each dish was meticulously prepared and crafted to please the palate and tell a story. Course after course, my husband and I were amazed at what arrived at the table.

We began with otoro red tuna, paired harmoniously with delicate Sakura. The richness of the tuna melted in my mouth with a burst of flavor, setting the tone for the culinary adventure ahead. Then came an oyster, perfectly complemented by a dollop of caviar and the zing of fresh horseradish.

The courses continued to delight and surprise us. Red prawns as vibrant in flavor as they were in color. Hamachi that was so fresh, it practically danced on the plate. But perhaps one of the most unique dishes was the Iberian flan with green peas and eel. This was a standout that felt both innovative and comforting.

Between courses, we indulged in fresh, crusty bread served with butter so rich and creamy it was heavenly. Adding to this indulgence was bone marrow that felt impossibly luxurious.

Langoustine and hake followed, each cooked to perfection with flavors both delicate and bold. Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, a venison dish arrived, hearty and rich, yet entirely refined.

Sweet Endings

The desserts were the perfect finale to an incredible meal. First, a peach with cream that was both light and luscious. Then an interesting cheese dish paired with sweet potato that offered a sweet-savory interplay I didn’t expect but adored. To end things on a high note, we indulged in a selection of chocolates and petit fours. They added a playful and indulgent touch to an otherwise sophisticated dining experience.

Wine Pairings

And, of course, what’s a nine-course tasting menu without wine? We opted for a variety of pairings, which elevated the meal to an entirely new level. Each sip complemented and enhanced the flavors on the plate, showing just how much thought and care went into curating the experience.

A Meal Worth Savoring

It’s hard to pick a favorite from such a lineup of phenomenal dishes. Every bite seemed better than the last. The balance of flavors, the exquisite presentation, and the way each course seamlessly transitioned to the next made this a meal to remember.

Yes, Aleia is expensive. But when you factor in the artistry of every dish, the exceptional service, the intimate setting, and the thoughtfulness of the entire experience, it’s worth every penny. Aleia is not just a restaurant; it’s a destination, a place you go to savor and remember.

If you’re looking for a dining experience that will leave you in awe, Aleia should be at the very top of your list. I know I’m already looking forward to the day I can return and lose myself in their culinary magic all over again.
