Hotel in NYC: Try The Bryant Park Hotel

img_2252When I knew I would be running the NYC Marathon, I immediately researched the pick up location of the busses that were going down to Staten Island for the start of the race. I needed to be in Manhattan at 6 am and wasn’t going to take the LIRR at 4 am for an 11 am race start.

I wanted to be by the NYC Public Library and found a small quaint hotel, The Bryant Park Hotel right across from Bryant Park. It was reasonably priced for NYC at $261 a night, so I booked it for the two night minimum.

Walking into The Bryant Park Hotel was interesting. It was all red — red walls, red floors, red desk, even the elevators were red! I was a little worried, but when I got upstairs and saw the amazing suite that I had received, I was blown away! (As soon as I checked in, the front desk person told me I was upgraded.)

Inside, there was a king bed, a sofa and chair, large screen television and desk. The bathroom was gorgeous too. It had a large, deep bathtub and separate large walk in shower, with the most perfect shower stream!

The hotel spared no expense. Everything was done beautifully and it was thoroughly comfortable. I even mentioned to my husband, “I could live here.”

Interestingly, the bell person takes us upstairs and asks us if he should show us around. I gave him a look.

He also mentioned that if we need ice, he would get it for us. “You can’t get it on your own, but we would be happy to assist.”

There are thousands of hotels in New York City, but many of them are larger and more sterile. The Bryant Park Hotel was reasonably priced and a perfect place to stay when visiting the New York City.
