Lila’s Restaurant and Grill Review

friends

I wanted to meet my brother and sister-in-law in Boca. I was with my dad and my friend, Didi. We went to Butterfly World for the day and needed a restaurant close to Boca Raton and the highway. After opening OpenTables.com, I noticed a 4/5 star restaurant, Lila’s Restaurant and Grill on North Federal Highway in Boca Raton. So, I booked a table for five. Here is my review.

Lila’s Restaurant and Grill

Lila’s Restaurant and Grill is owned and operated by a family from Argentina who lives in Miami and commutes every day to Lila’s. The owner’s daughter, who also works at the restaurant, lives locally in the Boca area.

When we entered the restaurant, there was a beautiful table waiting for us in the center. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with high-end fixtures, granite, and lovely cushioned chairs. It had black and white decor and felt like an upscale restaurant. Yet, it also had the feel of being in someone’s kitchen.

Leslie Sol, Lila’s daughter, served us. She explained how her mom is the chef and prepares everything from scratch, including the pasta.

The Menu

The menu had so many choices. You name it, they had it. My family tasted the spaghetti and meatballs, the spaghetti bolognese, spinach ravioli and I had the chicken parm. My sister-in-law ordered a dish and Leslie told her that she can choose whichever sauce she wanted. They totally were amenable to customizing the menu!

What was interesting about the food, it wasn’t traditional Italian food. It was Italian food with an Argentina twist. You could taste the flavors from the two different countries. It happened to have been excellent.

The Wine

At Lila’s Restaurant and Grill, the owners had a fine selection of white and red wines. I was impressed. I had a glass of Malbec from Argentina.

The customer service

The service was exceptional. After serving our wine, Leslie served us garlic bread that was yummy delicious. Moments later the salad came out and then the main dish. My chicken parm came with spaghetti with homemade sauce.

When we were finished, Leslie tried to offer us a few different varieties of desserts but we were all stuffed and couldn’t eat anymore!

When we were finished with the meal, we sat and talked with the owners for a while. That was a special touch since most restaurants you never meet the owners.

The Lila’s Restaurant family sent us off with a hug from the chef, her husband, and their daughter. We all left with a big smile on our face that we just had a delicious meal in someone’s home!
