Support the Joey Foundation at Two Great Fundraising Events

I’ve known Ann Torcivia for several years now. She is one of the most altruistic people I know. After her six-year-old son passed from Aplastic Anemia, she launched a foundation in his memory, The Joey Foundation. This non-profit organization helps Long Island’s underprivileged and foster children so they can have fun and enjoy their childhood.

On Saturday, July 18, the Joey Foundation will be hosting two fundraisers to help the Cohen Children’s Medical Center, a local foster service and to raise money for a new roof for a school on the island of Jamaica.

From 11 am-4 pm, families are invited to check out the first annual Family Fun Day at Levittown Hall. There will be raffles, face painting, arts & crafts, characters, balloon artists and much more. It’s the perfect event for families, plus, it’s free.

Then, at 6 pm, Levittown Hall will be converted into the Kentucky Derby, complete with dinner, drinks (beer, wine and soda) and fun. Ladies are invited to wear their favorite hat for a chance to win the Derby Hat Contest. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Funds from this event will go towards ordering duffle bags for foster children so they can keep their valuables safe.

These fundraisers also include a Grand Drawing for a trip for four to Hawaii (8 days, 7 nights). You can purchase 1 entry for $30 or 4 entries for $100.

If you can’t attend but would like to help, The Joey Foundation is accepting sponsors for the Kentucky Derby. If you’re interested, reach out to Ann at (516) 822-5966 or email [email protected].
