What are Regenerative Organic Oats?

Nature's Path Regenerative Organic Oatmeal

When Nature’s Path reached out to me to review their regenerative organic oats, I really didn’t know what that meant or what I was getting. But, I agreed to give it a try.

What is regenerative organic oatmeal?

They sent me a box of oatmeal, but not just any oatmeal – a box of regenerative organic oatmeal. According to their website, “Regenerative organic farming takes a holistic farming approach which includes heavy use of compost, biological pest control, non-GMO seeds, crop rotation, and cover crops. It helps protect biodiversity, draws carbon from the atmosphere, and actually works to reverse climate change.”

The website suggests that eating regenerative organic oatmeal is better for the planet. This is the case because there are no chemical fertilizers and pesticides. “Healthy, organic soil has the ability to capture more carbon from the atmosphere and reverse climate change,” it says.

They had this handy infographic on their website that shows different approaches to food and farming:

How did it taste?

I found no difference in the flavor or the taste of the Nature’s Path Regenerative Organic Oatmeal vs. any other packaged oatmeal. But, if it’s better for the planet and actually healthier for you, why not make the switch?
