Swiss Air – You Forgot About Quality Control…

I’ve had the privilege of flying on Swiss Air twice in my life – once for my honeymoon and once on my recent trip to Eastern Europe.

The first time was fantastic.  I had no complaints.  It was like a fairy tale. But this most recent trip, I was a little surprised and shocked.

For starters, when I boarded the plane, instead of going to my seat, I immediately went to the bathroom.  To my surprise, the bathroom was filthy.  This was the first flight of the day and I was probably one of the first to go to the bathroom. How many people visit the bathroom as soon as they board?  The typical scenario is board the plane, find your seat, put your overhead in the bin, sit down and put your seat belt on and wait for the flight to take off.

The bathroom was a mess. It smelled terribly and it was just filthy. I tried to complain to the flight attendant but they didn’t want to hear anything. They were too busy trying the get the plane ready for take off.

Next, the meals come. Now, the meal happened to have been delicious. I know that sounds odd, but it was. My husband’s meal didn’t come with the cheese, but mine did. I was surprised.  I know that the Swiss are known for detail and this was certainly missing.

Lastly, my husband’s seat didn’t work. It reclined but it didn’t stay straight for take off or landing. I was surprised they didn’t move him to another seat.  One of the flight attendants noted the issue but that was it.

I don’t want to sound like a complainer, but with the prices that the airlines are charging these days, every flight should be perfect.  Don’t you think?
